This week the gallery has been transformed into a new exhibition Massive +Miniature. My first completely solo show since I had the Triton Gallery in Sledmere in 2016. Some of my bigger pieces are sitting side by side with the tiny ones and I’m very happy with how the charity section looks. I had thought to display the CD cases on bulldog clips then I found these lovely paperclips which are exactly the right size and the colours match perfectly.
The CDs are for sale. Each one is an original piece of artwork and each case contains a card with a link to an original music album ‘Music for Creativity’ by my husband Jonson Walker (he is a multi disciplinary musician who has been featured on the BBC several times). There are 50 CDs at £50 each and 50% will go to CMTuk, the charity for Charcot Marie Tooth disease, which myself, both my children and my dad all have (The rest will cover admin and gallery costs). October is CMT awareness month so this is the perfect time to use the gallery for this important work. You can see the CDs and buy them at kreivagallery.com/kreiva-gallery-shop or click on the picture below.
It has been lovely seeing all the artists popping by to pick up work, it is such a pleasure to get to know everyone. The virtual gallery from People + Place is still up for the next few days so if you missed the exhibition, you can still catch it HERE.
With most of my paintings on the walls, I’ve had the chance to sort the studio out as well. I’ve moved the table round to make space for some sort of comfy seating. I’m on the lookout for a big armchair or small sofa. Not all work has to be done at a desk!
Submissions are coming in for the Magic+Miracles exhibition, there is still time to submit your work with the deadline of 21st October and the delivery deadline 31st October. You can submit your work HERE and share the link if you know any artists who might like to submit to the exhibition: kreivagallery.com/submissions
This week I have a feature on Karen Melvin. Karen initially submitted some paintings for the People + Place exhibition. She then realised it would be tricky to post them and it was a bit too far to travel so she suggested sending some scrolls instead. I immediately agreed as they are utterly beautiful.
