This week has been a lovely mix of meeting artists, accepting deliveries, designing the space, planning where to put things and having a much overdue tidy up.
I was debating whether to dismantle the floating wall as I really wanted to open up the space for this exhibition. I decided to go for for it then I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Firstly, it seemed like a monumental job to dismantle it but I also thought it would be a shame not to have it for future exhibitions that I have planned. It has been really well made and put together, it just doesn’t fit through any of the doors so I can’t store it anywhere. So for this exhibition I’ve pushed it to the back of the gallery and I think it works very well. I hope you agree when you see the exhibition.
I’ve repaired the walls from the last exhibition, sanded and repainted them ready for hanging this week. I had some leftover paint in the roller tray so I snatched a bit of studio time and made some textured backgrounds to use in an upcoming project.
While all this was going on I have been accepting deliveries and meeting lots of fantastic people with their lovely work which is such a privilege to be able to show in my gallery.
I’ve got my work cut out this week to get everything hung in time for the preview on Friday evening. If you are local to Bridlington you are more than welcome to attend. The exhibition opens next Saturday and will run until 23rd March. It will also be available to view in the virtual gallery at kreivagallery.com/virtual-gallery. All the information can be found at kreivagallery.com/exhibitions.
This week I’m showcasing three artists from previous exhibitions. As usual selected at random using a number generator. Read on to find out who they are, about their work, history and processes and to see their work from the gallery.
