The Signs of Spring exhibition has now closed. It has been a fantastic exhibition which started in winter and led us right into the arrival of spring. Huge thank you to all the brilliant artists who took part.
The gallery had plenty of visitors and this is what some of them had to say:
I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new artists and chatting to visitors to the gallery.
The next exhibition is one I’ve been thinking about for some time. It is called WHY WE MAKE ART. It is a celebration of the creative process and how it benefits us in so many ways. For some people it is essential for their mental health, for others creative groups provide their only social interactions. It can be a means to get outside, to push ourselves to the next level, to learn about who we are, process difficult emotions…I could go on at some length here.
As a curator, when I am viewing artist profiles, so many people refer to the necessity of creating for their general management of life. I am sometimes one of those people. As a qualified creative mindfulness practitioner I also believe that everyone would benefit from creativity, the creative process can be more important than the outcome. With this exhibition I aim to showcase the amazing art that can come from pure self expression but also to inspire those who believe it is not for them to pick up a brush.
The exhibition will begin with a private view from 6-8pm on Friday 26th April and will run till 25th May. Opening times will be Wednesday-Saturday 11-3, Tuesday and Sunday by appointment and Monday closed.
To submit your work please visit kreivagallery.com/submissions and follow the instructions there. The deadline has been extended to March 31st.
I look forward to seeing the submissions!
This week’s artist profiles are as usual chosen at random with three very different artists from three very different exhibitions.
