This week will be the final week of the Signs of Spring exhibition. This exhibition was to herald the arrival of spring and today it feels like it is finally here! I have no heating on at the studio and not only is it not raining but the sun is actually shining and it feels so good. This is the feeling the exhibition is to celebrate so if you haven’t had the chance to visit, the gallery will be open 11-3 Thursday, Friday, Saturday this week.
You can also see the exhibition at the virtual gallery which is on the website at kreivagallery.com/virtual-gallery.
Submissions are now open for the next group exhibition which will run from the 26th April to 25th May. It is called Why We Make Art and is a celebration of the benefits of being creative. As a qualified creative mindfulness practitioner, I know, celebrate and practise the positive effects of creativity on our nervous systems, energy and mental and emotional wellbeing. For many of us having art and creativity in our lives is much more of a necessity than a choice.
With this exhibition I aim to highlight this drive which so many of us feel and bring it into the light. I believe that everyone would benefit from developing more creativity in their lives but so many people have a belief that they aren’t good at it or that art is something frivolous and unnecessary. So I aim to challenge and inspire by demonstrating what can be achieved and the beauty that can be created when we let a little creativity into our lives.
There will be opportunities for workshops as well, if you are local to Bridlington or wish to conduct a workshop online, please email hello@kreivagallery.com
To submit your work, please visit the submissions page at kreivagallery.com/submissions, thank you.
This week the gallery is showcasing three artists from previous exhibitions, picked at random using an online number generator. To find out who they are and what their work is like and what their backgrounds and processes are read on…
